Giuliana came to JapanGiuliana came to Japan (JAPANESE)

				My Italian friend Giuliana ,who I met her 5 years ago when I was in London,came to Japan. She was born and grew up in Rome and 29 years old. She has got many Japanese friends since She was in London. Her name Giuliana is unforgettable name for Japanese. As She heard many things about Japan from her Japanese friends, Coming to japan became her dream since that time. And finally December 1999, her deam came true.She'got the ticket to japan from KLM Air Line,which she used to work for. Therefore the ticket was incredibly cheep. My father and I went to the airport to pick her up and visited Shinshoji temple.I could not belive that she was in the smoke of incense. 　 She would stay in Tokyo for 10 days, and said that she want to enjoy and experience real Japanese life rather than going to museums and galleries. I had lots of things to let her amuse. I wonder what would be really nice for her ?

	JAPANESE FOOD SUSHI She can't eat meat but was not a vegetarian like some Europian. She ate meat so much when she was little child,so she bacame to dislike meat. Japan is like heaven for her,because we eat fish very much.She said that she has been Sushi restaurant is called “kuru-kuru”in London and want to eat Sushi again. So We went to the Sushi restaurant and ordered the most expensive Sushi. But she does not really like raw fish very much. Norimaki which we used to make by tuna and cucumber in London seems real sushi for her. NATTOU She heard about Nattou from many Japanese so many times, She was looking forward to eating Nattou. When she ate it, it was not so bad like people said about it. the smell is not so strong, she said.(I was bit disappointed with this,because I imaged how she disgust it.)

TAKOYAKI

			SHOPPING Cupple years ago, when two of Swidish friends came to Tokyo, They seemed to enjoy to buy clothes in Shinjuku. But Giuliana does not want to buy clothes and shoes at departmentstore. I thought that she comes from such fashionable country Italy, so dare not buy expensive clothes coming to Japan. In stead of clothes, She seemed to enjoy looking miscellaneous at Loft,which is famaous huge miscellaneous shop in Tokyo, must be wounderful.				If I were forigner in here, Loft would be toybox. 　And the electrical country Japan, She bought a CD-walkman as a gift for her boyfriend. TSUKIJI(The fish market) Tsukiji is the biggest fish market in Japan and famous in abroad. She wanted to go to there. So we got up in eary morning and went the inside of the market.But Giuliana looked tired and not so amazed. As Giuliana and I like sea food very much, We bought many kind of fishes and back to home. We invited 6 friends and had THE WELCOME PARTY from the afternoon.

				ASAKUSA I took her to Asakusa. She ate Tenpura-Udon,which was Japanese Noodle, so deliciously. We kept eating lots of food,fried-ricecake senbei and so on. She wanted to by Omamori.When she took Omamori in her hand, She said that she would not buy Omamori at Sensouji-temple. "why???" I asked her. She said that the symbol mark （卍）which was on the Omamri looked like the mark of the Nazis.So I thought her point of view were different from Japanese.

HAKONE If she thinks about hot spring,it must be outside. The first weekend she arrived in Japan,Giuliana , I and another friend went to Ito, but the bath was in the building. The water inside of the bathtub was hotspring. Giuliana did not say anything about this,But I could easly feel that she must think it was different from Japanese hotspring she heard about before. So I decided to take her to one day package tour inclede Onsen and traditional Japanese food Kaiseki. Japanese hotels are really excellent. It was weekday so only two of us were there. The weather was nice and the view of red leaves from outside hot spring was so beautiful. We rent the Yukatas,which was Kimono for Summer ,for her.

				After the hotspring, We went to Japanse restaurant where was in the Japanese beautiful garden. The restaurant was not new,but very large tatami room. The customers were only two of us in here as well. The waitress who wore the kimono welcomed to us. Giuliana was glad about her and the waitress was glad of a foreigner's coming. lunch started from the plum wine as appetizer.Not only delitious food but also plates are so beautiful. After all courses,there was the tea ceremony at next room.I was proud of Japanese to show her these wonderful Japanese traditonal things."The hotspring,Japanese garden,Kaisseki Japanese food and other all things were provided for only for us and that was like Japanse world which Giuliana dreamed before" that she said later on in E-mail.
